Have you ever compared yourself to someone else in business and not felt good enough?
Do you look at other people in their business and wish that you could do it like them?
I have had many conversations with women about their identity, who they think they should be, who others think they should be and who they actually are.
It can get confusing when you are in business as there are so many people saying different things and it can be easy to get lost in what others are doing.
A friend said to me the other day that I am good at staying in my own lane and focussing on what I want and doing it a way that is authentic to me.
I am now but I have had to learn how to stay in my own lane . I have had the same insecurities as many women in business wondering if I can do it, looking at others in a similar field and thinking I should be like them. I have confused myself with so much information at times that it has taken me off track and left me feeling frustrated and not good enough.
If I can offer a valuable piece of learning from my own experience is that it doesn’t matter how many people are doing similar things because they are not you. I discovered that once I became confident in my own skin, truly believed in my capabilities and aligned my values and purpose in my business then everything else fell in to place.
We are naturally curious so we will look at other peoples businesses and what they are doing. My biggest offering is to do this in a way that is not detrimental to your own growth.
Admire someone else’s passion and success and find out how they do it so you can do it too. There is enough for everyone and everyone’s enough is different.
Follow the people you admire and are where you want to be
Get curious about how they are successful
What do they do?
What beliefs do they hold?
How are they doing it?
What is their journey in business?
What have they been through to get to where they are?
